Drown Dedicates Victory
Aronhalt Takes Fifth Win

June 22, 2007
Millersburg Ohio

Millersburg OH – If you didn’t have anything to talk about on your way home from the races Friday night, then you were not at Hilltop Speedway. A very good crowd was on hand to witness not only roll over crashes, burning race cars, and a little bit of dirty driving, but also some of the best side by side four wide into the corners racing and down to the wire emotional victories to date.
Race fans saw it all Friday night at Hilltop.

Doug Drown was fastest of 22 Dutch Country Stone Late Models with a time of 14.483 seconds then worked his way from tail to third in the dash.
Rocky Owens slipped past Norm Aronhalt for the dash win and the right to start the feature event front row inside. Heat races went to a hard charging Mark Gardiner and Justin Chance. The eighteen car starting field was turned loose and there was certainly no shortage of side by side action but the event was slowed by several cautions as well. With Owens firmly in the lead and able to pull away from Drown and Aronhalt during green flag conditions, a mid point caution brought the field together and Drown was able to wrestle the lead from Owens and claim his first Hilltop win of 2007.

In a very emotional victory lane Drown dedicated this win to a best friend and sponsor since day one, who left us physically less than one week ago yet guided the # 12 Hites Racing Stables machine to a spirited victory on this night.

A team sweep of two Eddleblutes Garage Modified heat races were taken by Darrick Hubbard and Kevin Potts
while Blaine Aber scored the third with Norm Aronhalt first in the Dash. A tightly contested feature event was the highlight of the evening as Kenny Johnson rode the outside perimeter of the high banked 1/3 mile in an attempt
to pass Aronhalt for the lead. The race really got interesting when Brandon Morrow found some grip on the
bottom of the track, passed Johnson for second and went after Aronhalt for the lead but somehow ended up
sideways in the race track. During the ensuing yellow it was disappointing to see Johnson leave the track as few drivers are more exciting to watch in competition. Back to green “Stormin’ Norman” Aronhalt cruised to his
fifth Modified feature win followed by Morrow, Allan Baker all the way up from thirteenth, Rory Reed,
and Tim Rowe the top five.

The Holmes Tire Mini Stocks were up next and the battle between Ford Escorts and Honda Civics
continued full force despite Team Ogle out of competition with one car a broken axle and the other burnt
to the ground. Dale Beckett Jr. stepped up to the plate to win another for the Escorts just inches ahead
of a Civic driven by Josh Hershberger. Close behind was Cody Rinards Escort, Jeremy Lucas in a Honda,
and Jason Theil in another Escort.

American Payroll Advance Pure Stocks took over the action and Brandon Gardner was just
to strong and lead the distance to win a fourth feature win this year but all eyes were on
John Swinehart who has been inching closer and closer to a win with every race, tonight
finishing second. Donna Canode, Willy Coblentz, and Dave Haven Sr. filled the top five.

Anyone of the top five has the potential to win but tonight Dave Caskey flexed his muscle
to win the Troyers Trail Bologna Mini Truck feature ahead of Tom Garlick,
Chaz Odell, Brandon Craver, and Jesse Combs.
