On the Edge Action at Hilltop Sunday, June 10 George Lee riding high and Eric Myers defending his lead.

	Millersburg OH – Poor weather forced our regular Friday night races to be rescheduled for Sunday afternoon and despite daylight conditions the track surface was still fairly good with plenty of side by side action. Eric Myers set fast time for Late Models and won the fast dash from the tail. Norm Aronhalt and Rick Bond scored the following heats and Thomas Baker won the consolation race. A very strong field of cars made the feature line up and few could predict what the final outcome could be as Eric Myers and Jason Flory battled for the early lead while J. R. Gentry and Doug Drown swept past Corey Conley and D. J. Cline to join the front runners. The first caution waved for Flory and that put him out of action. At this point it was Myers, Gentry, Drown, Conley, and Aronhalt the top five with a pair of hard chargers closing in; George Lee was now up from his tenth starting spot and Dave Hornikel up from twelfth. Lee got around Conley to challenge the lead pack and positions constantly changed between the four hotshoes during several laps but once “The General” got his top groove cushion worn in to his liking he literally flat footed his way to a straightaway lead over Drown, Gentry, Hornikel, and Conley too score a fourth win already this year.

Although Norm Aronhalt experienced problems during the Late Model feature and fell from competition, he was not to be denied a strong presence and a Modifed win on this afternoon. After claiming the fast dash he followed up with a flag to flag victory in the feature event but not totally without incident. Aronhalt recovered from a spin that sent challenger Kevin Morehouse to the tail, then has to defend his position from a very strong running Jesse Wardell. Sam Lovejoy, Derrick Hubbard, and Kris McCombs filled the top five and heat wins were taken by Andy Parks and Kevin Potts. A rapid paced Mini Stock feature was slowed by a violent roll over by Kevin Markey, however the grandstands roared with cheers when he climbed from the wreckage unharmed. Once racing resumed Tom Ogle came out first over teammate Charlie Ray on this night followed by Henry Britton, Jeremy Hudson, and Ernest Fortune.
	Jesse Combs and Dave Caskey drag race down the bacstretch during a Troyers Trail Bologna Truck heat race. Billy Goerz uses the high side momentum to take the lead from Dave Haven Sr. and on to cross the finish line first but an illegal carburator was detected on the 55 machine during post race tech and the win fell back to Haven.

The Pure Stocks were determined not to be outdone by the Late Models and also kept race fans on the edge of their seats with positions traded and paint swapped until Billy Goerz beat Dave Haven Sr., Brandon Gardner, John Swinehart, and Chad Craver to the finish line however the win reverted to second place finisher Dave Haven Sr. after Goerz failed inspection. The final race of the night and whoops and hollers could still be heard across the Hilltop when Brandon Craver took the early Mini Truck feature event lead with Dave Caskey on the charge and in hot pursuit. However on his way to the front he somehow did a 360 on the front stretch and hit hard by Scott Shaffer sending him into another spin. Craver then cruised to an easy victory followed by Chaz O’Dell and Jesse Combs, but Caskeys truck proved pretty tough and recovered to finish fourth ahead of Gail Wallace.
