Hilltop win to Eric Myers
by Ken Cunningham Millersburg OH - July 21 Eric Myers of nearby Holmesville finally broke into Hilltop Speedway victory lane Friday night driving his CRM Colored Mulch sponsored dirt Late Model. Myers trailed Keith Berner in the fast dash but in the feature a bad brake sidelined race leader Berner, and that was the only break Myers needed as he held off Scott Peltz, George Lee, Mark Gardiner, and J. R. Gentry for his first Hilltop win. |

Every night at Hilltop the Modifieds manage to give fans a thrilling show and this week was no exception. Up front Kevin Morrehouse chased down and eventually made the winning move on Jess Hartman while Kyle Brown, Allan Baker, and Randy Gray battled back and forth to finish in that order. In the Pure Stock division it seems Fred Snyder cant catch a break. Enjoying an early lead this seasoned veteran would never let his gaurd down while a wily young gun quickly closed in. Brandon Gardner pulled alongside then used a lapped car to trap Snyder down low then pulled off an unusual reverse slide job in turn three to seal the deal and claim his first American Payroll Advance Pure Stock win at Hilltop.

The timing couldn't have been better for Ed Ray who powered his Escort GT to both a heat win and later led every lap to claim a career first feature win and sweep the Holmes Tire Mini Stock races at Hilltop on his birthday. Don't think for a minute it was that easy, not with Andy Parks, Steve Miller, Terry Adkins, and Mark Adkins close behind to fill the top five. Jeff Funk tuned his # 21 Katos Bottle House Mini Truck to perfection and was not denied this weeks win over Chaz Odell, Bill Kutz, Jesse Combs, and Gerald Pringle to conclude this weeks races.
