HOME Visit Amish Country Rails to Trails Virtual Tours
Hilltop Speedway is a great little race track and a wonderful way to spend a Friday night, but I would also
like to show race fans what a fascinating place Holmes County really is and let you know there is so much
more to do and see. With an overnight stay you could easily catch the races and enjoy exquisite dining,
unique shopping, unbelievable scenery, and sample a simpler way of life you can only find here. This area
features everything from 5 star hotel accomodations, several countryside bed and breakfasts, golf,
hand crafted Amish built furniture, old world cheese making, quilts, abundant farmlands, sawmills,
one of a kind gift shops, you can even tour the area in a horse drawn carriage.
The perfect place for a romantic getaway, and still catch a dirt race!

Horse and Buggy is a common method of transportation in this area as well as walking and bicycles, caution and patience must be used when trying to pass.

oHilltop Speedway is about 3 miles south of Millersburg Ohio and this is a rapidly growing county hub
where you will find everything a city has to offer including a Pizza Hut, Wal Mart, Hotels, Grocery Stores,
fuel, and convenience stores. The square is a very busy intersection and all directions lead to interesting and unique destinations. This tour requires you to skip past No Name Street, a visit to Fredricksburg,
Wooster, and back to Millersburg. This route features good food, bicycling, shopping, and great scenery.
I hope to add more destinations soon !

Driving North of Millersburg on Ohio 83 you will travel a winding and hilly but very well maintained two lane highway, along the way you will pass the county home and natural wetlands. A very scenic route but traffic can be intimidating and expect you to keep up. Have a good sense of direction and feel adventurous? Turn left off the highway and follow a few back roads but use caution during rainy periods as many roads flood over.

Holmesville Square - Turn right just past sign and
before grade school, scenic route to Fredricksburg

One of Ohios best Rails to Trails bicycle and hiking paths is located between Millersburg, Holmesville, and ending in Fredricksburg. There are several places to park and enjoy this publicly funded natural preserve. No cars or motor powered vehicles of any kind are permitted but the trail is shared by horses and horse drawn vehicles. Mile markers along the 10 mile path are dedicated to contributors.

The scenery is incredible and wildlife is
everywhere along this unspoiled trail!

Bicycle rentals are available in the area along with horse stables.
Since this is a former railroad line the trail is level and an easy ride.
For more information visit this Rails to Trails Link

Load up the bike and continue east on County Road 192 toward Fredricksburg, at the first stop sign
you will find Mrs. Millers Home Made Noodles. These are the big thick egg noodles used in many
Amish recipes. Stop and purchase a few bags to take home or turn left toward downtown Fredricksburg
where you will find more small town atmosphere and shopping.
