Mutiple early race cautions threatened to spoil what promised to be a fantastic race at the front. RWT point contenders Dave Defibaugh and Mark Dickson suffered serious setbacks to their title hopes when both were caught up in early race incidents and retired from the race.
When things finally got started in earnest, Conley led Kenny Johnson, Kyle Brown, defending RWT champ Louie Krushansky and Jesse Wisecarver in a hotly contested battle for the top 5 positions. Hilltop Speedway hotshoe Jess Hartman had fans on their feet, as he charged from a 22nd starting position using a crowd pleasing banzai rim ride to the front.
The events final caution for a wild accident that found Matt Aber's mount parked on top of Tim Roll's entry set up a final 6 lap run to the finish. Cnley had a mirror full of Johnson and Brown, with the lead trio constantly switching lanes on the track in a search for traction. With 4 laps remaining, it was a 3 wide battle for the lead as the field came to the front stretch. The following lap Johnson powered under Conley in turn 3, only to see Conley use a perfectly executed cross over move to retake the point. With the white flag in the air, Johnson gave it one last shot, but kissed the wall in turn 2, allowing Conley breathing room. Brown followed in Conley's tire tracks, but couldn't find the opening needed to make the pass, as Conley's 'Off Road Performance / Lucas Oil / Gib Patt owned #707 sped under flagman Ed Fredericks checkered flag for his third RWT win of the 2006 season. Brown was just off his bumper finishing 2nd with Kenny Johnson a close third.

 

 

Mark Gardiner was all smiles as he collected $100 for setting fast time, a bonus contibuted by a race fan, and heats went to Ryan Markham and J. R. Gentry. Rocky Owens held off the best to win the fast dash. Corey Conley outran George Lee to the Late Model feature finish for his second win of the night. Andy Parks scored his fifth feature win of the season behind the wheel of his popular EZ1 Mini Stock while Donna Canode held off Rich Frame for her third pure Stock win. Tim Jensen fills out the list of repeat winners in the Mini Truck division
